Reporting a wrong number

Include the page address, the values you entered and the result you expected, and say what you based the expectation on - a clinician, a lab result or your own arithmetic. Reports that name the formula or source make a fix much faster.

• The page address, copied from the browser.
• The inputs you used, including units.
• The result the page gave you and the result you expected.
• Where your expected figure came from, if you have a source.

What happens next

Reports that produce a wrong number are checked first against the test suite. If a formula is wrong, it is corrected and the page is dated with the change. If a threshold has been superseded by newer guidance, the source list is updated at the same time.

What to include in a report

A useful report names the page, the exact inputs you entered, the result the page showed and what you expected to see instead. If the numbers came from a specific unit setting, say which one - most reported errors turn out to be a metric entry in an imperial field.

If you can, include the browser and whether the figure was wrong on first load or only after you changed an input. Those two paths use different code: the server renders the opening numbers and the browser recalculates after a change, so knowing which one failed saves a round trip.

Screenshots help but are not required. A short description with the numbers is usually enough to reproduce the problem.

What we cannot help with

The address cannot give individual medical advice, interpret blood results, comment on a diagnosis or recommend a diet for a medical condition. Those requests are not declined out of caution: an answer without your history would be worse than no answer.

It also cannot fix a number you disagree with. If a formula, a threshold and its source are all correct, the page is working as intended, even when the result is unwelcome. What is genuinely useful to hear is that a source has been superseded or a formula has been revised.
